PURPOSE OF POSITION

Our company is seeking a reliable Foreman who will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency in the maintenance, repair, and construction of railroad tracks with a “keep safety on track” focus. The Foreman will oversee and successfully complete the daily tasks of several projects while leading, motivating, and engaging field personnel. A successful candidate will play a key role in all aspects of organization, productivity, safety, and efficiency of projects.
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises and works in conjunction with Superintendent, and other management personnel, to schedule activities of workers engaged in projects.
  • Conducts daily briefing with crew to review schedules, productions goals, performance feedback.
  • Build strong customer relations and provide quality customer service.
  • Provide daily leadership over crew to ensure a safe working environment, quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and compliance FRA and company rules and regulations.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with established track standards.
  • Performs and maintains a variety of administrative tasks such as but not limited to production reports, timesheets, equipment logs, inspection reports, change order, and updating project files.
  • Ensures compliance with safe work procedures, FRA guidelines, and company policies and procedures.
  • Create and foster an environment a positive work environment of team building.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
 

REQUIREMENTS
Education Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience Required:
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the railroad industry/track maintenance combined with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory or management role. 
Skills & Knowledge Required:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands on leadership with operational and technical skills.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to work independently and lead with minimal supervision.
  • Must have knowledge of and be able to apply FRA rules and regulations.
  • Understanding of use and maintenance of electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Track/Railroad construction/maintenance is preferred.
  • Dynamic personality to lead employees and put safety first.
  • Must be able to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suites.
